Information about Belarusian State Medical College

     The foundation of Belarusian State Medical College started with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR № 1418-p. of 03.09.1953; on its basis on the 1st of September 1953 Midwifery School under Minsk Medical Institute with 3-year study course was established.

     In 1954 the Midwifery School under Minsk Medical Institute was rearranged into an independent establishment Minsk Medical School № 2.

     In 2001 Minsk Medical School № 2 received the status of a college. Studies are arranged on the basis of the general secondary education in four specialities:

  1. 1. "Nursing", qualification "a nurse",
  2. 2. "Medical training", qualification "a doctor's assistant / midwife (obstetrician)",
  3. 3. "Prosthetic dentistry", qualification "a dental technician",
  4. 4. "Medical rehabilitation", qualification "a therapeutic" physical training instructor, a nurse-masseuse".

     The duration of the course in all specialities is 2 years and 10 months.

     Fees for education are 1500 - 2000 dollars per year. Graduates of the college get a diploma of international specimen.

     Students are provided with a hostel.

     The college gives the possibility for specialists with secondary medical education to improve their qualification and also gives them further training.

     For profound study of the subjects 38 study-rooms and laboratories were equipped in consent with modern requirements and achievements in medicine. There is a library and reading-room, conference hall with up-to-date musical equipment, three computer rooms with Internet access, dining-hall and sports room in the college.

     New forms of work, modern pedagogic technologies, achievements of progressive practical medicine and healthcare are intensively used in teaching process for only high-quality medical education ensures high level of medical services.

     Admission of foreign citizens to the Belarusian State Medical College is arranged on the base of the Decree of the council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus № 442 of 07.07.1993 "About Education of Foreign Citizens in the Republic of Belarus" and also on the base of the "Rules on admission to Specialized High Educational Establishments" (approved by the Decree of the president of the Republic of Belarus № 6 of 07.02.2006).

     In accordance with the above mentioned normative documents, international agreements of the Republic of Belarus, including those of interdepartmental character, foreign students are admitted on concordance with the Ministry of Health.

    
Foreign citizens (their representatives) submit to the admissions board the following documents in Belarusian, Russian, English, French, Spanish or German language:

  • application for admission to the chosen speciality;
  • certificate (document) of education showing the studied subjects and the marks (grades) received at the exams;
  • medical report of your state of health, proving the ability to study in the climatic conditions of the Republic of Belarus and in the educational establishment of medical field in the corresponding specialisation; certificate of absence of AIDS infections issued by the official medical establishment of the country, where the candidate comes from to study;
  • medical report issued on the territory of the Republic of Belarus (polyclinic №33) proving having no contraindication to studies in the Republic of Belarus. In case of inconsistence of the results of medical report received out of the Republic of Belarus the candidate is to leave the country;
  • copy of the certificate of birth attested in accordance with the established order;
  • 6 photos of 4 x 6 sm;
  • passport or substituting document;
  • visas and obligatory medical insurance executed in the order established on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

Attested by notary office translation into Belarusian or Russian language is attached to all above listed foreign documents. (original and copy)

    Admission of foreign citizens, residing on the territory of Belarus legally and having the corresponding level of previous education, is processed on a paid basis by signing an agreement between Belarusian State Medical College and foreign citizens or their representatives.

    The college also conducted training for 178 critical areas of professional activity on re-training with a medical education in 11 specialties: "Anesthesiology", "Surgery", "Dietetics", "Valeology", "Functional Diagnosis", "Massage Therapy", "Physiotherapy", "Physical training instructor", "Cosmetologist", "Radiology", "Out-patient care" (doctor's assistant).

    Studying process in Belarusian State Medical College in all specialties is conducted in Russian language. Foreign citizens who are not confident enough of the language of studies should take preparatory course in the preparatory department of our educational establishment with receipt of certificate about its completion.
